TagHeuer in leading position at Ferro Jewels

Linked to the history of motor racing and speed, TagHeuer is one of those brands we have all heard of. I asked Fabrizio Ferro what led him to become one of the official dealers of TagHeuer in pole position at Ferro Gioielli.
Let’s discover something more about this brand together!

Calibre 16

Why TagHeuer?

Because of its history, because it is a long-lasting and technologically advanced product. Because, as a brand, it continuously invests in technology and maintains its own identity, even though it is part of the large holding LVMH, Louis Vuitton and Moët Hennessy. And finally, because Fabrizio, as we know, fully shares the pioneering, bold, nonconformist, and always cutting-edge spirit of this Swiss brand.

TagHeuer is a brand that owns specialized laboratories and is free to decide on its own models, Fabrizio explained to me. A detail that can make the difference, making this product that combines watchmaking and technology truly unique.
Customized movements, with technological touches designed ad hoc and sporty entry-level models. TagHeuer chronographs and watches stand out in the market for their extremely advantageous price, while being highly innovative models where every step of their manufacture is cared for down to the smallest detail. Affordable for everyone, at any age!

Precision and technology

I couldn’t fail to mention the tourbillon, a technological movement with truly impressive micromechanics! Without going too much into technical details (we will talk about it, don’t worry!), this movement allows for extreme precision and reliability.
A true legend of watchmaking, indispensable on the wrist of those who always want to keep time under control.

The brand's history

It's incredible how the best stories always start in family. TagHeuer, in fact, was founded by Edouard Heuer, who established the Heuer Watch Company in 1860 in Saint-Imier, Switzerland. Heuer immediately began working on high-precision timing instruments, developing and patenting the oscillating pinion, which allowed the chronograph to achieve extremely high precision! In 1911, the first chronograph dedicated to car dashboards, the “Time of Trip.” Flash forward a few years: Edouard's son, Charles-Auguste Heuer, created the Mikrograph Heuer: the first mechanical stopwatch capable of measuring elapsed time with 1/100th of a second precision. It wasn’t even the 1920s yet. After this launch, Heuer instruments began to be used in many sporting events, including the Olympics! A passion linked to sport in all its facets... especially when it comes to speed.

Pole position speed in Formula 1

Fabrizio then explained to me that TagHeuer wrote the most beautiful pages in the history of motor racing. From the '70s to the '90s, in fact, it was linked to Ferrari, racing on the wrists of the strongest Formula 1 competitors. There is even an entire collection dedicated precisely to the most beloved car races of all time!

On Steve McQueen's wrist

In tune with the crazy and explosive spirit of Steve McQueen, Fabrizio also immediately appreciated TagHeuer and its passion for speed on four wheels.
We certainly cannot forget the chronograph worn by the most beloved Hollywood actor of all time: in the 1970 film Le Mans, McQueen decided to wear a Monaco Heuer model watch, which went down in history.

The Monaco was born just a year earlier by Jack Heuer and was the first waterproof square-shaped model, as well as the first chronograph with an automatic winding movement. An iconic watch, which has become a symbol of the TagHeuer legend even today. In 2019, on its 50th anniversary, a limited edition called “Monaco Piece d'Art” was created.
A renewed version of the original from '69, which never goes out of style but, on the contrary, reveals how the craftsmanship of artisans is truly able to transcend time. Fabrizio really had an eye, choosing to become a dealer of a truly wonderful brand.
