Brief guide to wearing the engagement ring

The long-awaited moment has finally arrived: you have received the fateful proposal! And, as an inevitable bonus, along with your "yes" came a beautiful ring, one of those you always want to show to everyone you meet. Well, have you ever wondered what the main precautions are when wearing the engagement ring?

Let's discover them together in this brief guide to wearing the engagement ring

The right finger

It is well known: the engagement ring is not worn on the thumb, nor on the middle finger, but on the ring finger of the left hand. There are no excuses, nor exceptions.

Why the ring finger?

The name itself suggests it, from a certain point of view. Yet, many do not know that there is a legend about it, which makes the ring finger the ideal finger for the jewels we cherish most. It is said that through the ring finger of the left hand runs a small artery directly connected to our heart.

And the wedding band?

Etiquette explains that, during the wedding, it is better to present oneself with hands free of any other jewel. The focus must be solely on the wedding band. At most, you may temporarily move the engagement ring to the ring finger of the right hand. However, nothing forbids you, after our special day, from wearing the engagement ring again as well.

One sole precaution: the wedding band must always be worn first, closer to the palm of the hand. Together, paired with it, the engagement ring, for a refined elegance that always reminds us of our "yes".
