A symbol of cutting-edge design since 1963, the year of its creation, to the brand’s new line with innovative models such as the very modern Connected Modular, the TAG Heuer Carrera collection celebrates its 55th anniversary in 2018.
A fantastic occasion for the Swiss watchmaker to unveil a new chronograph equipped with a GMT function. This new model adopts the aesthetic codes and DNA of the Heuer Carrera, recalling the arrangement of the counters at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock from 1963.
The chronograph minutes and hours are located at 3 and 9 o’clock, while the small running seconds are at 6 o’clock. The date window is instead at 4:30. The model is completed by the GMT function. This is the first time TAG Heuer has added this complication to its prestigious in-house movement.
Two variants available
The second time zone, an extremely practical feature that can be adjusted with the crown, is read thanks to the lacquered red hand and the blue and black ceramic bezel, equipped with a 24-hour GMT scale. To ensure maximum legibility, the GMT hand has been cleverly mounted in a secondary position — between the hour and minute hands — so as to pass over the indices and brush the GMT scale.
The in-house movement, visible through the skeletonized dial, is housed in a sturdy 45 mm steel case, water-resistant up to 100 metres. As bold as it is refined, this daring model demonstrates the heights reached by the cutting-edge technology of the Swiss watchmaker.
