How to wear jewelry in summer | for Her

Summer brings with it the desire for holidays and carefreeness, often becoming a time to show off one’s jewels. Here are some tips to keep your ornaments always neat and sparkling. For those who wear pearls, the rule is not to wear them while applying makeup; be careful with beauty creams, hair sprays, and various foams because the chemicals inside them gradually dull and damage the pearls. It is very useful at the end of the evening to gently rub them to remove any cosmetics present on the skin, and store them in a soft cloth away from other gems. As for gold and stone jewelry, in recent years white gold has taken the lead, so they will need to be polished and re-plated with rhodium to restore the original brightness of the white. Diamonds will also need to be cleaned and checked. Have them examined by a professional who will assess whether the jewel is still in perfect condition or if it requires maintenance, which will certainly be less costly than losing a gem through neglect. If you prefer to do it yourself, simply boil water with some mild soap in a small pot and, using a very soft brush, gently scrub through the crevices of the jewel and over the stones, then rinse the piece in water after soaking it in denatured alcohol. Dry it with a soft cloth or with a hairdryer on low heat. Naturally, this treatment should not be performed on jewelry with pearls, corals, turquoise, opals, or mother-of-pearl. If you place them in a jewelry box, make sure each has its own place and they do not come into contact with each other to avoid possible scratches.
