The 50th Anniversary timepiece pays tribute to the “Silver Snoopy Award,” a prize NASA astronauts awarded to OMEGA in 1970 in recognition of the brand’s contributions to space exploration, including the Apollo 13 mission.

The 42 mm stainless steel case is complemented by a blue nylon strap, featuring the embossed trajectory of the Apollo 13 mission on the inside. The silver dial is characterized by angled blue PVD hands and hour markers, and an embossed silver medallion depicting Snoopy on the blue subdial at 9 o’clock.

The dark side of the Moon is represented on the sapphire crystal NAIAD LOCK case back, using a micro-structured metallization technique. Snoopy appears inside his Command and Service Module (CMS) on a magic hand that rotates when the chronograph function is active. In the background, a disc depicting Earth rotates once per minute, synchronized with the watch’s small seconds hand.

In addition to the black engravings on the case back, honoring Apollo 13 and OMEGA’s “Silver Snoopy Award,” the model also features a blue ceramic [ZrO2] bezel ring with a white enamel tachymeter scale. The non-limited edition watch is powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Caliber 3861 and is presented in a special box.

Having participated in all six moon landings in history, the legendary OMEGA Speedmaster is a true space icon and the perfect expression of OMEGA’s pioneering spirit.

This 44.25 mm model celebrates the Speedmaster’s history aboard the Apollo 8 mission through the burnished movement created by laser ablation on the main plate and bridges, evoking the lunar surface. The skeletonized black anodized aluminum dial reveals the visible side of the satellite, while the dark side can be admired through the case back.

Equipped with a perforated black rubber strap with a yellow rubber interior, the watch is entirely made of black ceramic. The design is completed by yellow chronograph seconds hands and a laser-engraved tachymeter scale on the white enamel bezel. The small seconds subdial (patent pending) also includes a grade 5 titanium hand shaped like the Saturn V rocket. This 3D shape is created by laser, while the colors come from white enamel, ablation, and laser burnishing.

The OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Caliber 3869 features special decoration, while the case back is engraved with the inscriptions “APOLLO 8, DEC 1968,” “DARK SIDE OF THE MOON,” “WE’LL SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE,” and “CO-AXIAL MASTER CHRONOMETER.”
