Few pieces
On holiday, especially if going on an adventure, it’s better to bring only the essentials. Choose simple trinkets that match perfectly with each other in metal and precious stones. It’s better to aim for neutral colours: the gems in colour are beautiful, of course, but they must be possible to match with every outfit. In short: a pair of earrings, a necklace, a bracelet and a watch are more than enough for a week’s holiday!
Prepare for events
If we know in advance that we must attend a special occasion, then it’s fine to bring some precious items to wear only on that occasion. Here too, choose them carefully beforehand, making sure to match them with each other and with the dress. Few, but good!
A single place
Try to keep all your jewels in one place, both while travelling and in the inn. It’s better to get a small toiletry case (there are also special travel jewellery holders!) where to store all our precious items. The important thing is not to scatter the trinkets around the room, but also to take care to do a full check of our jewels before leaving.
Valuable, but not dear
We can allow ourselves to bring some jewels of high monetary value, certainly. Perhaps a special elegant evening awaits us and it’s right to arrive prepared. What matters, however, is to leave at home, safe, all those jewels that have a particular affectionate meaning for us. Fine to bring the luxury bracelet we gave ourselves for our birthday, but no pendant from great-grandmother!
Watch your luggage!
If you travel by plane, remember that every year many hold luggage are lost. It’s better to always carry your precious items with you, even if they cause some trouble at the metal detector....
