TAG Heuer presents the Connected Modular 45 smart watch
TAG Heuer has finally unveiled the Connected Modular 45.
TAG Heuer launches a new smartwatch with Android Wear 2.0, the first of its kind to be modular. The case, which contains the “Connected” part, can be replaced with that of a traditional mechanical watch “Swiss Made.” When purchasing, you essentially build your own personalized TAG Heuer, but even afterwards you can make many changes, such as changing straps, accessories, and even the case itself. This is a highly advanced smartwatch that nods to high technology but is rooted in the Swiss watchmaking tradition.
Connected Modular 45 was designed, developed, and assembled at the La Chaux-de-Fonds headquarters in Switzerland. And it shows! The smartwatch has a diameter of 45 mm and its lines resemble those of a classic watch, with interchangeable lugs, strap, buckle, and case. Connected Modular 45 is crafted in polished or satin-finished grade 5 titanium, rose gold 5N 18 carat plated, or black ceramic with or without diamonds. There are as many as 56 different versions available for this model. In reality, 11 standard models will be found in stores while the other 45 will be available on request.
From the watch’s name, Modular, it is immediately clear how the buyer can assemble the different available modules to build the perfect watch, the most desired one. You start with the connected module, then move on to the mechanical movement module and about 500 possible combinations.

Technical performance
The smartwatch, based on the Intel Atom Z34XX chip, has a 1.39” AMOLED screen, is waterproof up to 50 meters, integrates the NFC chip, has an Intel Atom processor, 512 MB of RAM, and 4 GB of internal memory. It also includes Wi-Fi, GPS, and NFC for Android Pay, and the manufacturer promises over 30 hours of battery life. Furthermore, it can be best customized with 30 dials, all faithful to the TAG Heuer identity.

The new TAG Heuer Companion app will also enhance the software experience as it is designed to assist in communication with the new watch and make the experience easy and enjoyable. It will anticipate your daily schedule and what you need to know about meetings, tasks, calls, projects, trips, and more.
